The bad from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
Man, it sure would have been nice if Giannis Antetokounmpo had missed the game!
The Greek Freak reminded everyone on this rock called planet Earth why he is the most dominant player in the NBA. To anyone that is old enough to watch Wilt Chamberlain play, please comment on the comparisons with these players because there were Wilt-like stats put up in the first half alone.
- Giannis nailed all eight of his shots from the field.
- He hit both of his 3 point shots.
- He blocked AD’s jumper straight up playing him one on one.
- If he wasn’t bad from the free throw line (5-9 shooting!), this was one of the more dominating first half performances in a while!
The NBA Finals MVP had 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the first half alone.
Side note back to the Lakers side of things. Anthony Davis is going to have to find a competitive mindset when competing against Giannis. His stats are empty and he tends to evaporate more often than not when Giannis is awake and focused when these two teams play.
Back to Giannis, as he finished with 44 points (17-20 shooting!), 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 blocks.
The only thing that stopped Giannis was foul trouble with five. If he had stayed out of foul trouble, he would have had 50.
The Los Angeles Lakers do not play any defense despite the fact Frank Vogel is a “Defensive” coach!
The Milwaukee Bucks at one time in the second quarter was shooting…92 PERCENT from the field shooting 10-11 from the field. It was easy for their offensive schemes to flow and Khris Middleton was on fire from the outside scoring 21 points of his own.
- The Bucks shot 68.2% from the field in the first half.
- The Bucks shot 56.3% from beyond the 3-point line.
- They scored 78 points which is the high mark given up by Los Angeles.
- If they weren’t so bad from the free throw line (9-16 shooting)…the Bucks would have been thinking about 90 points.
In short, this entire article is a word salad of what really happened in this game. In short…
