3. Devin Booker

Devin Booker is undoubtedly the best player on this list and he is only getting better as a player. By the time he could be a Laker he could already be the best scorer in the league and be a candidate for the MVP award. The reason he comes last is the circumstances that it would take for him to come to LA.

While it is multiple years down the line and seems far-fetched now, there definitely is a foundation for reality and as we have learned in the NBA time and time again, crazier things can happen.

First of all, Booker is a free agent in the summer of 2024, a year after LeBron is a free agent. If the Lakers are not going to be big spenders in 2023 and LeBron is not going to take a pay cut then the team has to wait until the summer of 2024.

While then? That is when Bronny enters the draft. The Lakers could draft Bronny to get LeBron to re-sign for the minimum to play with his son, opening the cap space to sign another star. Booker is notably a massive fan of Kobe Bryant and could look to follow in his footsteps in LA.

Things are currently great in Phoenix right now but that is not necessarily the best run franchise. With Chris Paul being the age he is, by the time Booker is a free agent the Suns may not be an enticing destination at all.

Again, a lot has to happen for this to be the case but tell me Devin Booker doesn’t feel like a future Laker.
