Lakers vs. Clippers third bold prediction: This game goes WAY over the point total

The odds are out for this Lakers-Clippers showdown and Vegas cannot pick a side. WynnBET currently has the game as a pick ’em with no spread attached. That is not what we are concerned with, we are concerned with the points total of 223.5 points.

This game has all the makings of going well over that point total, even without Anthony Davis. In fact, I would argue that Davis not playing in this game makes it more likely that the over will hit as the Lakers are missing a key defensive presence near the rim.

Not that it matters much with the Clippers, who simply try and rain down three-point shots over their opponents. The Clippers are not the most prolific scoring team in the league (averaging 106.9 points per game) but when they are firing from beyond the arc they are firing.

The Lakers do not have the best perimeter defense in the league and the Clippers should be able to find their stroke from beyond the arc. However, with LeBron having a big game and the Lakers’ shooters hitting their shots, the over will easily be crossed.

For what it is worth, I would also take the Lakers as a pick ’em in this game but I do not feel as good about that as I do the over.

Next. What would a LeBron trade actually look like?. dark

Both teams get into the 110s but the purple and gold get the victory. Lakers 117, Clippers 113.
