4. Frank Vogel

Some fans would rank Frank Vogel higher on this list as it appears likely that he will not be the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers next season. Vogel has been far from perfect and he has made some questionable decisions with the rotation but it is hard to blame him more than others for this disappointment.

Vogel has to coach with what is given to him and the fact of the matter is that Vogel was given a sub-par roster whose best two players have traded injuries this season. You could insert whoever you think the best head coach in the NBA is right now and the results would be close to the same.

It does not help that the front office seemingly has its hands in the pot when it comes to coaching decisions as well. The front office reportedly pressured Vogel to bench Russell Westbrook and Vogel refused. Whether you agree or disagree with that decision, one thing we can all agree on is that the front office should not be coaching. The coach should.

The Lakers can fire Vogel all they want in the offseason. They can bring in the hand-picked coach of choice from Klutch Sports. It won’t matter. As long as this is the roster that is in LA then the Lakers are not going to win many basketball games.

Vogel does deserve some blame for his questionable rotation decisions but even if he was perfect this season, the Lakers would be .500 at best.
