1. Rob Pelinka and the rest of the front office

Rob Pelinka and the front office are the biggest reason why this year has been such a massive disappointment. All of those issues with Westbrook were easily forecastable last summer but Pelinka still took a swing and traded actual assets for a guy that nobody really wanted.

Some may point to LeBron’s pressure as a bigger source of blame. Pelinka is the general manager! He has the ability to tell LeBron no. If a kid wants to drink a cup of coffee and the parents let him then you cannot blame the kid for being hyper! It is the parents who let them do that behavior.

Pelinka let LeBron pressure him and do his job for him. That is more of an indication of Pelinka as a GM than it is LeBron as a player.

That is not the only thing to blame Pelinka and the front office for. We can also blame Jeannie Buss for even allowing Kurt Rambis to have a say in the organization. What has Rambis achieved? Absolutely nothing. Why is he making these decisions!?

We can blame the front office for trying to pressure the coaching staff. We can blame Pelinka for being hard to work with according to other executives. Nothing about this front office indicates that it is a well-run team.

And quite frankly, this isn’t a new story. Remember all of the circus headlines after Magic Johnson abruptly quit his role as President of Basketball Operations? All of those storylines were masked because LeBron James and Anthony Davis had an insane playoff run in the Orlando bubble.

The unfortunate reality of the situation is that the organization has been poorly run since Jeanie took over the team. The biggest sources of blame are Pelinka, Buss, Rambis and whoever else makes up the decision-making team in the front office.
