Frank Vogel to blame yet again for Lakers loss to Wizards
By Ronald Agers
The bad from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t stop Daniel Gafford.
The Lakers ran off to an early lead for two reasons. One, LeBron James unofficially owns the Wizards on the offensive end and two, Washington took forever to take advantage of their size due to the fact Frank Vogel rolled out that small-ball lineup that nearly never works. Well when they figured out that getting the ball to the rim was beneficial, Daniel Gafford started putting in work.
At this point alone, Gafford had 17 points on 7-9 shooting. To put this in perspective one of those misses was a dunk that almost touched the rafters. But it was Gafford’s play that scared Kristaps Porzingis straight that ultimately doomed the Lakers.
Kristaps Porzingis went absolutely NUTS in the fourth quarter!
If you watched the first half of this game, the question of how in the world is this guy still in the NBA crossed your mind. He whined his way out of New York. He feuded with Luka Doncic and got himself banished from Dallas. Even in the previous game, the Lakers bullied him. He shot 1-7 from the field in the first 24 minutes and that opened up minutes for Gafford because he was so bad!
In the final quarter, the “Unicorn” abused the small-ball lineup for 16 points and finished with 27 points. It could have been worse but the referees took away a potential and-one opportunity because of a hook before his basket.
The bench production…
When a NBA basketball team outscores you 55-21…umm that’s not good. Carmelo Anthony had 13 of those 21 points so that should tell you a lot.
Talen Horton-Tucker:
THT contributed…well let Lake Show Life say it this way. Close your eyes. What do you see? Nothing? That’s what THT contributed!
