Portland Trail Blazers: Eric Bledsoe
The Portland Trail Blazers acquired Eric Bledsoe from the Los Angeles Clippers in a trade for Robert Covington at the deadline. Bledsoe was in the trade to make the contracts work and he has not played a single minute with the Blazers as he is nursing an Achilles injury.
Bledsoe will be on an expiring contract that pays him $19.3 million next season. In a perfect world, the Blazers would quickly agree to a buyout with Bledsoe and the Lakers could sign him for the veteran minimum instead of giving assets up for him.
However, if that does not happen then he is the trade target that makes the most sense from Portland. Bledsoe would give the team yet another depth point guard and would be a good option to consider if the team does manage to get Westbrook off the books this summer.
At this point in his career, Bledsoe is a better version of Avery Bradley who comes at a much more expensive price. It is not my favorite target on this list but it would not be shocking at all if the Lakers can’t make any other moves, get desperate, and package THT and Nunn for Bledsoe.
