The story from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
The Los Angeles Lakers’ relevancy has been reduced to…Who is going to replace Frank Vogel.
This website is not going to take the time here to explain why Frank Vogel got fired because there was plenty. We are not here to point blame because there is a buffet line of blame to give everyone in the entire organization starting at the top with the owner Jeanie Buss.
This website is going to look at the comedy around the coaching search that this team will probably remind everyone each day of the playoffs through to the NBA Finals. Here are the early rumored coaches. The laughs start at the bottom of the list.
Let’s go back to what Stephen A. Smith said earlier in the article about how the front office is run. Do you really think the front office even has the capability to even get the top two names on the list? Like really? Did anyone forget how the negotiations with Monty Williams and Ty Lue went? They didn’t want to pay those guys and they could have taken a nap for half the season and the Lakers would have gotten the fifth seed. But they did not want to pay them or let them have their own staff.
For the record, the market value for an NBA coach that is credible is five years at $25-30 million dollars. Frank Vogel accepted three years at $15 million. The only name on that list that will take that is Steve Clifford. Do you think Mike Brown will leave a well-oiled machine of an organization that is the Golden State Warriors for this mess? He probably could call Luke Walton and ask for his take on the oncoming experience. Wait! He coached there before right? How did that work out?
The Lakers probably will be balling on a budget so don’t be surprised if Kurt Rambis is the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Why? Phil Jackson can consult from above in the front office.
Just like Jeanie Buss wants it.
