The Los Angeles Lakers are headed into an offseason full of question marks after a disaster of a season. Russell Westbrook should be jettisoned after a rocky season with the Lakers. Westbrook likely won’t garner any value on the trade market the point guard is more likely to be swapped for another bad contract or multiple bad deals.

Trading Westbrook isn’t going to be enough to fix what ails this team. Parting ways with Westbrook will remove one of the issues the team faced but in a conference that has been dominated by young deep teams moving Westbrook doesn’t move the needle.

While the idea of parting ways with LeBron James has been speculated on the Lakers aren’t parting ways with their star. LeBron wasn’t able to elevate the Lakers as he had in past seasons, however, we are only two seasons removed from LeBron and the Lakers winning the title.

With the pandemic throwing off the basketball schedule it is important to remember that happened only 19-months ago. Looking at the 2020 championship Lakers roster and remembering the style they brought to the bubble the difference is obvious.

If the Lakers want to truly bounce back and have a chance to compete for a title next season they must make what could be an unpopular move.

The Los Angeles Lakers must trade Anthony Davis.

The reasons for trading Anthony Davis are far too obvious and cannot be ignored if the Lakers are serious about winning a title next season.
