3. Otto Porter

Otto Porter has been mentioned several times here at Lake Show Life, both as a player that the Los Angeles Lakers should have signed last offseason as well as a potential candidate for the team to sign this offseason.

Porter signed with the Golden State Warriors and became a valuable role player on a team that is likely on its way to the NBA Finals. And while Porter’s role in the playoffs is small, all it takes is one or two big games for him to raise his market over that of minimum value.

However, at this point in his career unless he really proves otherwise he will likely get another minimum deal. Porter really should not have interest in leaving Golden State if he is only getting a minimum deal but if he does make a silly decision, the Lakers should jump in.

Porter is exactly the kind of wing that the Lakers need to look to add. His defensive metrics were really good this season as he can offer the team a similar two-way impact that the likes of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Danny Green offered in their time in LA.

Porter shot 37% from beyond the arc this season and is a career 39.8% three-point shooter. His playoff numbers are not great (10-31 from three in the playoffs), which is actually good for the Los Angeles Lakers.
