Los Angeles Lakers: 6 potential free-agent targets with ties to Darvin Ham

2. Tony Snell

Perhaps one of the least exciting options on this list, Ham did coach Tony Snell in Milwaukee. Granted, Snell was not a Buck for very long but he does have that familiarity that could grant him a chance to be a back-of-the-rotation option for the Lakers late in free agency.

The Lakers are not going to be jumping out of the gate to sign someone like Snell but he very well could be a contingency plan later in the summer. It is not like the Lakers are going to get an elite back-end rotation player anyway so that familiarity could be enough to make this happen.

If the Lakers have their eyes set on someone else for the 14th or 15th roster spot and that falls through then Snell could be an okay backup plan. He has had stretches where he shoots the basketball at a fantastic rate and he can provide positive minutes on the defensive end.

A career 39.4% three-point shooter, Snell played on the Bucks for three seasons, one of which coincided with Ham joining the coaching staff along with Mike Budenholzer. Snell’s most impressive season came with Atlanta, though, when he shot 56.9% from three with 2.3 threes attempted per game.

Nothing wrong with adding more shooting at the back of the rotation in LA.
