Why the Los Angeles Lakers should say yes to this trade:

Kyrie Irving certainly has his issues and the Los Angeles Lakers understand that. Irving has not been the best leader since he demanded a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is immensely talented, he has not resulted in winning basketball since he left LeBron.

That being said, he would be coming back to LeBron in this potential trade and the Lakers would just need Irving to be who he was with the Cavaliers before. Irving would not be in the spotlight with both LeBron and Anthony Davis on the team and together, the trio could be legitimately scary.

This is a team that is absolutely good enough to walk into the NBA Finals as long as they stay healthy, which is a massive upgrade from the current situation. With Russell Westbrook, the Lakers will not sniff the NBA Finals in the slightest.

Sure, trading two more first-round picks is a bit risky but the championship window is shrinking with LeBron James and the Lakers have to go for it. Better yet, the Lakers would have a star duo in Kyrie and AD after LeBron leaves to help usher in the next generation of Lakers basketball.

LeBron probably stays another year in Los Angeles if Irving is on the team as well. If the team simply keeps Westbrook and it is a disaster then LeBron could very well leave and bide his time until Bronny is in the league. The Lakers want LeBron to bide his time until Bronny comes in LA and they are sending that message to him.

They could continue to send that message to him by trading for Kyrie Irving.
