3. Orlando Magic
The confusion over the first overall pick and the last half-decade should tell you all you need to know as to why the Magic make the list of possible Westbrook suitors. The front office often seems to have no idea what they are doing or what direction they are heading in. The team is stuck in a conference with the Heat, Nets, Bucks, Celtics, Hawks, 76ers, Bulls, Raptors, Cavaliers, and Hornets.
Ten teams who at their worst are still better than the Magic no matter the impact rookie Paulo Banchero makes. Coming off of a sixty-loss season this team is in a perpetual rebuild and might be willing to take on Westbrook for relevance and draft compensation.
Orlando needs a reason to bring fans to the arena and certainly could use future draft picks to help the continual rebuild. Westbrook has always been at his best when expectations are low and he is surrounded by average talent.
He made the Thunder and Wizards both interesting teams despite often having very little around him. Westbrook is still capable of being great when the expectations are low and there aren’t stars around him.
Westbrook spending the final year of his contract with a young Magic team would be a fit for both sides if the Magic are willing to clear the needed cap space and the Lakers will part with future draft picks.
