3. Markieff Morris

Morris spent most of last season injured with the Miami Heat after taking a shot from the Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic. Morris was never quite healthy with the Heat it seemed and was unable to make the impact the team hoped he would.

As much sense as a return to Miami would make for Morris the Lakers should offer the veteran a chance to return to Los Angeles.

Markieff brings more to a team that will show up in the box score. He isn’t an elite scorer or even the best defender, however, his ability to bring energy and intensity is a skill set the Lakers badly need.

While Morris isn’t exactly an enforcer he is close and will be more than willing to get in anyone’s face who he believes hurts or disrespects his teammates.

It is a type of energy the Lakers need more of and should attempt to bring back with Morris. At this point in his career, he is likely a 9th or 10th option off the bench for the Lakers but still well worth the effort to attempt to bring to Los Angeles.
