He played as well as 75 percent of the summer league players playing for the first time!

The Lakers second round pick shot 2-11 from the field for 5 points. Should Lakers Nation be bellowing to trade him? No. Because he’s from Michigan State and they are known for three things.

  1. They are tough and will play hard every second they are on the floor.
  2. They fill up the stat sheet helping in other ways (Like that Draymond Green dude does at Golden State! No one mistakes him for being a Splash Brother!).
  3. Defense…nuff said!

Max Christie  had 9 rebounds (Two offensive!) and 3 assists in this game. Remember the struggles that Pippen Jr. had fouling? Christie is a defender that could have lockdown tendencies because he was effective and didn’t pick up a foul.

At this point, fans don’t need to panic about his shooting because he does have good mechanics and will improve with repetition.  What fans need to pay attention to is his defensive awareness because that is what is going to get Darvin Ham’s eye.
