Phil Handy will tell you… Scotty Pippen Jr. can play in the NBA!

Heat game on Saturday:

"Scotty did not shoot well from the perimeter going only 2-8 from the field (1-5 from beyond the arc!), but he got to the free-throw line knocking down 7-8 to finish with 12 points. What’s even better, he did not allow his jumper to dictate his overall game. He also had 6 rebounds, 3 assists and a blocked shot."

Warriors game on Sunday:

How well did Scotty do in this game? He played well enough that he may have passed Mac McClung in the pecking order around training camp time. This dude ran the offense to perfection and showed his ability to hit cutters in tight spots to get easy baskets.

Throughout this post-game report, the highlights have shown Pippen Jr. with great passes in traffic to set up his teammates. He finished the game with 15 points (4-7 shooting!), 8 assists, 3 steals and ZERO TURNOVERS! Just an amazing performance by the rookie.

But here’s the impressive part of his analysis over the last two games. He didn’t allow his bad shooting performance to get in his head. He kept playing his game and got a few shots to fall. But the story of this game was how he orchestrated the Lakers’ offense. When he was on the floor, the Warriors looked lost as he kept finding his teammates by the basket.

It looks like Phil Handy is in his ear because he played much better defense without fouling.

Well now that Pippen Jr is taken care of, let’s check out Cole Swider, who found his stroke late in the Heat game. Did he keep his hot hand? Press the purple bar and find out!
