The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off of the most disappointing season in franchise history and with how the roster is currently constructed, the team is primed to do the same thing next season.

Los Angeles cannot head into the 2022-23 season with this roster and expect to be a contending team. There simply is not enough talent on the roster. With free agency being depleted (and the Lakers not having much to spend anyway), the team is going to have to turn to trades.

Luckily for Lakers fans, the purple and gold have been embroiled in several trade rumors and there are three players, in particular, who could come to Los Angeles ad start before the season begins.

Here are 3 players who could start for the Los Angeles Lakers next season that are not currently in LA:

1. Kyrie Irving

Despite reports that Kyrie Irving wants to run it back with the Brooklyn Nets with or without Kevin Durant, all signs are pointing to him being a Laker. Durant trade talks seem to be heating up and as soon as that domino falls an Irving trade will be next.

Brooklyn has no reason to keep Irving without Durant and the Lakers are the only team in a desperate enough situation to trade for Irving. The exact framework of the trade and what LA needs to send still needs to be worked out but it will be centered around Irving and Russell Westbrook.

However, that is not the only player that could start for the Lakers that is coming from the Nets.
