1. Kendrick Nunn

The best 3-point shooter on the Los Angeles Lakers is someone who did not play in a single game for the team last season. After playing in the preseason, Kendrick Nunn could never return to the court as he dealt with various injuries that kept him sidelined.

That makes him one of the most interesting role players that the Lakers have this season. Nunn had some stock in the league and took a discount to sign with the Lakers last summer. After this injury-riddled season, opting back into his contract was a no-brainer and he could take a lot of people by storm.

One thing is for certain: he will be getting a lot of looks from beyond the arc as Nunn is the best 3-point shooter that the Lakers currently have on the roster. What makes it worse is that Nunn is not even that great of a shooter. He is fine, but by no means should be the best on the team.

Nunn’s career average in his two seasons played is just above LeBron’s rate from his last two seasons. Nunn checks in with a 36.4% rate in 5.8 attempts per game. However, Nunn is moving in the right direction as the 2020-21 season was a better one from beyond the arc.

In his last season played with the Miami Heat, Nunn shot 38.1% from 3 in 5.7 attempts per game. Those are the kind of numbers that the Lakers are looking for in role players. The only problem is that the Lakers should have 3-4 of those guys, not just 1.

Plus, it is not like LA even added Nunn this offseason, he was a carry-over from the year before. So when it comes to adding shooters this summer, Juan Toscano-Anderson is the best the Lakers have to show thus far.
