Russell Westbrook is the Los Angeles Lakers’ Carson Wentz

This might be the best comparison of the bunch. While Russell Westbrook is without a doubt more durable than Carson Wentz, the parallels in these two players’ careers are so uncanny that it is hard not to see themselves in each other when you really look at it.

Both Wentz and Westbrook have bounced around from team to team. Wentz is currently on his third team in the last three years while Westbrook had a period of playing for four teams across four years.

When you look at the baseline numbers for both guys, they seem pretty decent. Westbrook averaged nearly a triple-double last season while Wentz finished with 3,563 passing yards last season with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Heck, both guys have had MVP ceilings as well. Westbrook has literally won the MVP award while Wentz was well on his way to winning the award before getting hurt in 2017. How ironic is is that the two players peaked at the same time?

The Westbrook fans in OKC always said that Westbrook was misunderstood and underrated despite Westbrook never winning a playoff series in OKC after KD left. Philly fans said the same about Wentz for quite some time until both fanbases came to the realization of who their stars were.

They are star players with previous MVP ceilings that will put up decent numbers on paper. However, when the going gets tough and you need them to win the game for you, more often than not they are going to show their true colors and come up short.
