2. Rudy Gay

The one area of the Los Angeles Lakers roster that needs the most help is at wing. Instead of adding wings to the roster, the Lakers have instead opted to load up at guard and commit to playing undersized guards at wing even though they are not wings.

Sure, the options for the team in free agency were not the best but there certainly were still options that the Lakers could have explored. Instead, the team took this route and the result is an incredibly unbalanced roster.

Rudy Gay is not going to fix all of those problems but he would at least add depth and veteran experience to a part of the roster that desperately needs it. Gay was someone who was potentially going to be included in a Westbrook trade, so the Lakers may have already done the scouting on him.

Gay is an extremely easy player for the Jazz to cut as he is a veteran that does not have a high salary, thus the team is not really sacrificing much in just letting him go. It is not like the Jazz are going to get anything for just Gay in a trade, either. He could be thrown into something bigger but no contender is going to trade future assets or youth for Gay.

The 36-year-old may not match with the youth movement in LA, but he has had years where he shot the ball well from three and even at this point in his career is a capable defender off the bench.
