3. Ty Jerome

Ty Jerome is not on the Los Angeles Lakers roster yet, but it might not be very long until he is. The 25-year-old two-guard was recently waived by the Houston Rockets after being involved in a cap-centric eight-player trade between Houston and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Jerome is coming off of a bad season with the Thunder but he has recent success indicates he can succeed at the NBA level. The former Virginia Cavalier shot 42.3% from beyond the arc during the 2020-21 season while attempting 5.2 threes per game.

While Jerome is not an in-house option currently like the other two, he still would add depth where LA needs it. He is not a traditional wing as a two-guard but he could tangentially add depth at wing with what he offers at the two. Plus, with LA running some smaller lineups, Jerome can squeeze in some minutes at the three.

Jerome is also the only name on this list that has legitimate NBA experience. That could be the tiebreaking factor for Los Angeles, especially if the team does want to keep Swider on a two-way contract for the time being.

Whatever the Lakers decide to do the fact of the matter is this: the team desperately needs three-point shooting and leaving that roster spot open, or giving it to someone who cannot shoot, would be roster malpractice.
