Lakers fans can’t help but laugh at LeBron James’ latest Instagram post
By Jason Reed
LeBron James is not only the face of the NBA but is the most recognizable American sports athlete in the world. Him joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018 was a perfect fit as he not only got to come to the entertainment capital of the world but he got to put on the most prestigious uniform in the sport.
There is no denying the reach and impact that LeBron James has. He has been the perfect role model for the sport for two decades, both for reasons on the basketball court and off of it.
However, at the end of the day, he is still a 37-year-old dad that grew up before the rise of social media, which cannot be said about his NBA peers. That has not stopped him from being a prominent user on Instagram and Twitter and he has given us some pretty hilarious tidbits in the past.
The latest Instagram post that LeBron cooked up the kitchen might be his best one yet. It isn’t because of a funny caption, cringe-worthy dad joke, or a bad prediction that turned out to be false. It is the subtly that he tried to get by with that Lakers fans can’t help but laugh at.
LeBron James’ must-see Instagram post after the Lakers’ loss to the Kings:
Get it? Because LeBron’s nickname is the King and he was playing the Kings? Look, in all honesty, this is a pretty hard photo for marketing purposes and I definitely see the vision here. But c’mon LeBron! You make almost $50 million from the Lakers alone! You could have hired someone to photoshop out the S instead of crossing it off like you were posting it to your Snapchat story.
LeBron also missed the Kings logo that is right below on the white stadium banner. That would have been a lot easier for him to get rid of with the solid white background as well. Consistency, LeBron!
In a season that has been so painful to watch, especially after the Anthony Davis injury, it is nice to be able to laugh at the Lakers’ star player for reasons that have nothing to do with basketball.
Some harmless fun never hurt anyone and maybe it will get LeBron James to hire a graphic designer to help with his Instagram posts.
