2. Alec Burks

Bojan Bogdanovic is the Detroit Piston that everyone is watching on the trade market right now and the Lakers would be fooling themselves if they think they can make a deal for him. It would cost more draft capital than the team can afford to give up as there is a bountiful market for Bogie.

Bogdanovic is one of the best scoring and shooting role players in the league that is easy to integrate into any offensive system. Any contender that has the contracts to send back to Detroit should be interested, which hurts the Lakers’ chances.

That being said, there is another Piston that is less talked about that would still be a great fit for the Lakers: Alec Burks. Burks does not have as much trade value as Bogdanovic (which is a good thing) but would still add a lot of value to Los Angeles.

He would give the Lakers an option with a bit more size as he can play the two and three and would instantly be the best shooter on the team. Burks is shooting 45% from three in 4.6 attempts per game this season. Over the last three seasons, he is shooting a combined 41.5% from three.

Burks is a serviceable defender as well. He is by no means a lockdown defender that is going to change the defensive identity but he has proven that he can hold his own and even thrive in the right defensive system that utilizes his strengths.
