2. Lakers trade rumors around Cam Reddish finally come to fruition

Cam Reddish has been tied to the Los Angeles Lakers longer than any other player on the trade market. The Lakers originally showed interest in Reddish when he was a member of the Atlanta Hawks last season and that interest has not waned despite his bad tenure in New York.

Los Angeles was named as one of three potential suitors for Reddish in a recent update from Marc Stein, who also reported that the asking price for the former lottery pick has fallen to a second-round pick.

The Lakers may not be the best potential suitor for Reddish when it comes to assets they can trade but that should not stop the team from trying. While the Lakers should not overpay for Reddish and offer two second-round picks, they do have a valuable pick to send for his services.

Whether it be the team’s own second-round pick or the Chicago Bulls’ second-round pick, Los Angeles has two picks in the top 40 that they can offer for Reddish. Those picks obviously hold a lot more water than a pick in the late 50s from a team with a better record.

Reddish’s situation with the Knicks might not be great but at the end of the day he is still a young player with serious potential. This wouldn’t just be a move for this year, this would be a move for someone the Lakers can re-sign for cheap on a multi-year deal to carve out a place in this rotation.
