The Los Angeles Lakers are going to be without their two best players on Monday, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both listed as out against the Brooklyn Nets.

That’s led to the Lakers being set as major underdogs against Kyrie Irving and company, but the Nets have injury issues of their own in this game. Kevin Durant (knee) will miss Monday’s game while T.J. Warren is listed as doubtful and Ben Simmons is questionable.

The Nets pulled off a win without all three players against the New York Knicks on Saturday while the Lakers lost a heartbreaker in overtime against the Boston Celtics.

Los Angeles is also down guard Austin Reaves, really limiting the options for the Lakers in this game. The Lakers have played at the No. 2 pace in the NBA this season, but can they keep up with the Nets and Irving without so many key players?

Let’s dive into the odds and a best bet for this game:

Lakers vs. Nets odds, spread and total

Lakers vs. Nets prediction and pick

Even though the Lakers are major underdogs, I don’t think the move is to back them with Davis and James both out of the lineup.

However, I do think there is value on this total given how the Nets’ offense has looked as of late.

Brooklyn has easily cleared 230.5 combined points in four straight games, really finding its stride from beyond the arc in recent games.

That’s a good sign for the OVER, especially since the Lakers are one of the best OVER teams in the NBa, going 27-23 on them this season.

Los Angeles may need to push the pace even more than usual to get easy baskets in this game, and it’s worth noting that the Nets gave up 130 points to the Detroit Pistons in a recent game. Detroit is one of the worst offenses in the league this season.

After playing solid defense for most of this season, the Nets rank 16th in the NBA over their last 10 games while Los Angeles comes in at 15th. I wouldn’t be shocked to see this game in the 120s, which would push it over this total.
