Best NBA prop bets today for Thunder vs. Lakers (Does LeBron break scoring record?)
By Peter Dewey
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is on the verge of history, sitting jut 36 points away from breaking the NBA’s all-time scoring record held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
LeBron has a chance to break that record on Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who were blown out by the Golden State Warriors last night and play at the No. 3 pace in the NBA.
I have a prop bet for LeBron, Anthony Davis and Patrick Beverley for this primetime matchup. Let’s dive in:
Thunder vs. Lakers best NBA prop bets
- LeBron James OVER 32.5 Points
- Anthony Davis OVER 12.5 Rebounds
- Patrick Beverley UNDER 2.5 Rebounds
LeBron James OVER 32.5 Points
Can we not bet on LeBron to go over his points prop and chase the record?
I think this could be a huge game for James, especially after the Thunder allowed Klay Thompson to score 42 points last night.
The NBA would love nothing more than for LeBron to break this record in primetime, and I think he’s due for a big scoring game after three straight falling short of this number.
If LeBron gets off to a hot start, the Lakers are going to keep feeding him. Go OVER and let’s root for history.
Anthony Davis OVER 12.5 Rebounds
AD has put together back-to-back games with 14 rebounds, and now he gets a Thunder team that ranks 27th in the NBA in rebounding percentage and doesn’t have a true big man outside of Mike Muscala.
Davis is averaging 12.0 rebounds per game this season, so this isn’t asking him to hit an unrealistic number. If OKC plays this game at a fast pace, there should be plenty of possessions for AD to clean up the glass.
Patrick Beverley UNDER 2.5 Rebounds
Sticking with the rebounding props, I’m fading Patrick Beverley on Tuesday night.
Pat Bev has cleared 2.5 rebounds just twice in his last 10 games, averaging 1.8 boards per game over his last 12.
Beverley is likely going to draw Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tonight, which should keep him away from the bucket more often than not. I’ll trust the recent results and bet him to go UNDER.
