4. DeMarcus Cousins
DeMarcus Cousins never actually got a chance to compete for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team signed him before the 2019-20 season after his stint with the Golden State Warriors and at that time, there was still hope that Cousins could return to form as a star.
However, Cousins could not outrun the injury bug as he tore his ACL shortly before the season tipped off. The Lakers were left to scramble and had to bring in Dwight Howard, who appeared to be on his way out of the league to Taiwan three years early.
Howard ended up being a critical role player for the Lakers that season and extended his NBA career in the process. It would be a full circle moment if the Lakers now bring in Cousins as they are in a scramble to get some kind of body in the building.
Cousins has not played this season and anyone convincing themselves that there is still something there that is untapped into is fooling themselves. However, he could still give the team an extra body for depth in the regular season.
Cousins is a better shooter than almost everyone else on this list, so he at least has that going for him.
