3 sharpshooters the Lakers can add in the 2023 NBA Draft
By Jason Reed
Brice Sensabaugh Jr.
Brice Sensabaugh Jr. is coming off of a fantastic breakout season with Ohio State that quickly shot him up the prospect boards. Sensabaugh was not even on many boards before the season as he was not a candidate to come into the league after his freshman year. That all changed because of his play.
The freshman small forward averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 24.5 minutes per game. His efficiency was off the charts as he shot 48% from the field, 40.5% from three and 83% from the free-throw line. That is exactly the kind of consistent shooting the Lakers need.
There is a limited ceiling defensively and there are also previous injuries that might be concerning for NBA teams but if Sensabaugh works out, he could be someone that can spark the offense as a bench scorer and be an off-ball threat.
Brice Sensabaugh Jr. is a realistic option for the Lakers with the 17th pick.
Because of those injury concerns and the sometimes one-sided nature of his game, Sensabaugh is still limited as a prospect. He is expected to go in the teens and should be taken around the 17th overall pick.
If Sensabaugh ends up falling to the Lakers at 17 then it might be too good of a selection to pass on. There would be some work that needs to be done to his game but at the very least he could come into the league and make some buckets.
