5 potential D’Angelo Russell replacements for Lakers this offseason: Terry Rozier

This past year, Terry Rozier’s shooting splits took a dip, but that was largely due to the massive weight that was put on his shoulders, as the Charlotte Hornets were one of the worst teams in the league, and they depended on him as a go-to guy every night.

Outside of this past season, Rozier has been extremely efficient throughout his time in Charlotte, and on a team where he wouldn’t have to be the primary scorer, Rozier could definitely get back to that form.

For the Lakers, Rozier’s three-point shooting and perimeter shot creation would be extremely valuable, especially considering Austin Reaves and LeBron James would take most of the playmaking load away from him.

Rozier is under contract for three more seasons, and as the Hornets look to build around their new core of LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, they could value financial flexibility more than Rozier himself.

This could open the door for LA to make a move, with Malik Beasley and Mo Bamba as matching salaries. Throw in a couple of second-round picks, and the Hornets could be willing to talk.

Add in the fact that Rozier is a solid defender who plays with a ton of energy, and the Lakers should keep an eye on him as a potential D’Angelo Russell replacement.

Potential starting lineup: Terry Rozier, Austin Reaves, LeBron James, Jarred Vanderbilt, Anthony Davis
