Cam Reddish

Cam Reddish is one of the new faces that the Lakers brought in this offseason and there is a lot of excitement among the fanbase for someone who may not deserve it. Reddish has been tied to the Lake Show several times in the past, making this move even more exciting for fans.

That being said, there is a viable reason for fans to be excited. Los Angeles has been one of the best teams in the league in developing players and getting the most out of them. Reddish is someone with a high ceiling that has not put it together and the hope is that LA can crack the code.

While there definitely is a path in which Reddish becomes a legitimate rotation player, there is also a (more likely) path that he continues to be the same player he has always been. If that is the case, the Lakers won’t have a good reason to keep him around for the NBA Playoffs.

The Lakers don’t have time to wait on Cam Reddish to develop

If this was the Lakers from several years ago then the team would probably let Reddish sink in hopes that he eventually finds out how to swim. With a title being the main goal this upcoming season, there is absolutely no room for that.

If Reddish is not a productive player for the purple and gold then there is no reason to keep him around. This is not a long-term commitment and it isn’t like the Lakers are the team that spent the high draft pick on him.
