Lakers schedule predictions, January:

January 3 vs Miami Heat: WIN

The Lakers get their revenge against a less-talented Miami team that has to travel across the country for this matchup.

January 5 vs Memphis Grizzlies: WIN

Ja Morant should be back for this game and it is going to end up being one of the best of the regular season. Austin Reaves explodes and is the difference-maker, just like he was in the playoffs.

January 7 vs LA Clippers: LOSS

You cannot win them all as the Lakers’ predicted winning streak ends at seven games against a Clippers team that will want to start a new winning streak against the purple and gold.

January 9 vs Toronto Raptors: WIN

The Raptors are one of the weirdest teams to gauge in the league but at home, LA should be able to take care of business.

January 11 vs Phoenix Suns: WIN

At this point in the year, the Suns’ lack of depth will really start to show itself and the Lakers will take advantage of that with Rui Hachimura having a big game in the win.

January 13 at Utah Jazz: LOSS

The Lakers naturally won’t win every single game that they are supposed to win and this feels like a prime spot for an upset after a big win.

January 15 vs Oklahoma City Thunder: WIN

The loss to Utah will fuel the Lakers to take this home game against the Thunder a bit more seriously. Los Angeles squeaks by with a close win.

January 17 vs Dallas Mavericks: LOSS

Losing two of three to the Mavericks doesn’t seem like a great prediction but it all has to do with the point of the season. This is when the games start to drag along and Dallas will steal a game on the road.

January 19 vs Brooklyn Nets: LOSS

There has to be a bad stretch of the schedule and this mid-January run feels like the perfect time for LA to underestimate some teams only to be shocked by talented players (like Mikal Bridges).

January 21 vs Portland Trail Blazers: WIN

The Lakers get back on the horse against a Blazers team that might not have Damian Lillard anymore at this point.

January 23 at LA Clippers: LOSS

The Clippers start another streak against the Lakers, winning a second game in a row against the purple and gold. The mid-January stretch continues.

January 25 vs Chicago Bulls: WIN

Darvin Ham lights a fire under his team and they blow out an inferior Bulls team that did not understand what it was walking into.

January 27 at Golden State Warriors: LOSS

Stephen Curry turns in a vintage performance in front of his home crowd to beat the Lakers in overtime. This gives the purple and gold a 3-5 record in an eight-game stretch. It happens and should be expected over the course of a long season.

January 29 at Houston Rockets: WIN

Another game against the Rockets, another win for the Lake Show.

January 30 at Atlanta Hawks: WIN

The Lakers help right the ship with a second win in a row to end January to give the team a much more manageable 5-5 record in the last 10 games played.

Record after January: 33-16
