Lakers dream SF in 2028: Austin Reaves

Austin Reaves is technically a shooting guard and he does not have the exact make-up of being a small forward. However, Reaves has the skillset to fit in anywhere on the offensive side of the ball and the NBA is more positionless than ever. If the Lakers have to start Reaves at the three they will be just fine.

Reaves’ contract extension that he signed this offseason will have already expired by the time the 2028 summer rolls around. Los Angeles would be silly not to re-sign him when his contract is up, especially if he continues to play at the level that he is playing.

Reaves will be right in the thick of his athletic prime at 30 years old during the summer of 2028. Los Angeles will have to re-sign him the year prior when he is still 29.

The hope for the Lakers is going to be that Reaves’ price is not too expensive. However, the lifelong Lakers fan has already given the team a discount once this summer. As long as he is not an All-NBA superstar who is getting a max deal, Reaves seems willing to do what is best for the team to be part of something special.

And trust us when we say that this potential 2028 roster is special. Not only would Reaves be playing alongside an All-NBA guy in Booker, he would also be playing alongside on of the best in the entire sport.
