The Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James begin the 2023-24 regular season against the Denver Nuggets – a rematch of last season’s Western Conference Finals.
This should be an intriguing matchup, and it’s one that I plan on dabbling in the player prop market for some of my best bets.
Austin Reaves, Anthony Davis and even Nuggets center Nikola Jokic are all players to consider targeting in this game – especially if you want to take advantage of this great promo offer from FanDuel:

Lakers vs. Nuggets best NBA prop bets
- Anthony Davis OVER 3.5 steals and blocks
- Austin Reaves OVER 14.5 points
- Nikola Jokic OVER 9.5 assists
Anthony Davis OVER 3.5 steals and blocks
Davis was a monster in the postseason in the 2022-23 campaign, averaging 3.1 blocks and 1.4 steals per game. He ended up clearing this prop line in three of his four games against the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals.
The addition of Christian Wood should free Davis up for some more blocks at the rim if the two share the floor together on Tuesday night.
Until A.D. slows down as a defender, he’s worth a shot at plus money for this prop.
Austin Reaves OVER 14.5 points
During the playoffs, Reaves averaged 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in 16 games while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 44.3 percent from 3-point range.
Now, he’s expected to take on a bigger role in the team’s offense from the start of the 2023-24 season after signing a four-year extension in the offseason.
Even during the regular season in the 2022-23 campaign, Reaves put up 13.0 points per game. This total is too low for him given the expanded role he should have.
Nikola Jokic OVER 9.5 assists
If there’s one Nuggets player to bet on – it’s Jokic.
During the Nuggets’ playoff series with the Lakers, he averaged 11.8 assists per game across the four matchups in the series.
Jokic nearly averaged a triple-double (9.8 assists per game) last season, and he may be slowed a bit in the scoring department by Davis.
The two-time MVP always seems to make the right play, and I wouldn’t be shocked to see him trust his teammates in this game if the Lakers key in on him.
