3. Taurean Prince

The Lakers signed Prince to a one-year $4.5 million contract this summer to play a 3-and-D role. His minutes have declined over the last three years, but finding a 6’7 wing who is a career 37.2 percent 3-point shooter at that price is not easy.

Prince is in his eighth season and the Lakers are his fifth team. Fans should not expect too much, but the 6’7 wing is an above-average shooter. He made 38.4 percent of his threes over the last three years combined, and Prince shot 40.9 percent on catch-and-shoot triples last season.

Prince is a deadly corner 3-point shooter. He has shot 41.7 percent for his career and 45.6 percent over the last three years combined. Can Darvin Ham and the Los Angeles Lakers scheme ways to get him looks in the corner? It would certainly lead to plenty of makes.

Whether Taurean Prince starts or comes off the bench, he will be a key piece for the Lakers this season. They need wings who can defend multiple positions and make life easier for LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Prince will be asked to sink open shots and D up. How well he performs will determine his playing time and role.
