1. Jalen Bridges, SF, Baylor Bears
Projected Range: Late second round
Easily one of the most underrated prospects in the 2024 NBA Draft, Jalen Bridges looks the part of the prototypical 3-and-D wing. Standing at 6'7" and 213 pounds with a 6'10" wingspan, Bridges has the build and length to defend multiple positions at the next level.
Bridges didn't test very well in the speed and agility drills at the Combine, but that shouldn't deter the Lakers from taking a chance on him if he's available at No. 55 overall.
Bridges keeps the ball high when he shoots and has become incredibly efficient because of that almost unblockable approach. He shot 41.2 percent from beyond the arc as a senior, burying 73 of his 177 three-point field goal attempts.
Bridges shot 32.5 percent or worse during his sophomore and junior seasons, but his form has improved significantly and his 82.3 percent shooting from the charity stripe is a reassuring sign.
The Lakers could potentially develop Bridges into a key reserve or perhaps a starting-caliber player. His ability to space the floor would be invaluable from day one, while his length and defensive quality would help take pressure off the stars.
Bridges is also a capable straight-line finisher who should only get stronger as he transitions to the NBA and practices with professionals.
