3. Donte DiVincenzo, 2018
Donte DiVincenzo has been a plus contributor at every stop of his NBA career. It seems he's finally found a more permanent home with the New York Knicks after what can only be described as the best season of his already strong career.
A chameleon on offensive who can play any role that's needed, as well as one of the best defensive guards in the NBA, finding a DiVincenzo equivalent would be a revelation for the Los Angeles Lakers.
DiVincenzo struggled to find his shot through two seasons but has since become the epitome of a 3-and-D specialist. He's shot 38.7 percent from beyond the arc over the past four seasons, as well as an even 40.0 percent between 2022-23 and 2023-24.
This past season, his first with the Knicks, he averaged a career-best 15.5 points and 3.5 three-point field goals made per game on 40.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
While some might label him as a late bloomer, it's worth noting that DiVincenzo's defense has been praised throughout his career. It's what enabled him to help the Golden State Warriors win the 2020-21 NBA championship and the Knicks win their first playoff series in 11 years in 2023-24.
As the Lakers search for 3-and-D specialists in the 2024 NBA Draft, DiVincenzo epitomizes the type of player they dream of acquiring.
