The best trade the Lakers can make with the Raptors:

If the Los Angeles Lakers are going to make a trade with the Toronto Raptors it is going to have to be a big one. The Lakers might be rooting for the season to go south quickly for Toronto as that could convince the team to trade its biggest asset. And if so, the Lakers could make a play.

Siakam

On paper, this should be enough to acquire Pascal Siakam considering he is a rental. However, because of the Lakers' draft pick protections, the team cannot actually trade an unprotected first until 2029. Thus, they have to package two earlier pick swaps and then throw in a later unprotected first.

Things would really have to go south for the Raptors to trade Siakam but if that did happen he would make a lot of sense for the Lakers. Siakam would continue the size trend for the Lake Show and add a real two-way presence that would be daunting.

Siakam is the perfect kind of third star to add to Los Angeles and the Lakers can recoup what they are losing in the trade. Siakam would take all of Hachimura's minutes (and then some) while the team has Gabe Vincent (once he returns) to supplement those D'Lo minutes.

Los Angeles can work on an extension for Siakam to keep him in LA and build around this big three.
