6. Lonnie Walker IV
Walker got a one-year $6.5 million contract from the Lakers in the 2022 offseason. The 18th overall pick by the Spurs in 2018 was moving on from his first NBA franchise.
He had plenty to prove and shot a career-high 44.8 percent from the field in LA. Walker was crucial in Games 3 and 4 of the Lakers' second-round playoff series against the Warriors, and they likely do not make the conference finals without him. His playing time dipped against the Nuggets, and Walker left for Brooklyn in free agency.
It will be interesting to see where the 6’4 wing goes next. The 25-year-old is still improving, but he is coming off a one-year minimum deal. Walker played just over 17 minutes per game with the Nets. His jumper continues to improve, but his defense is subpar. Expect him to sign another minimum deal this summer in hopes of building his value.
Could Lonnie Walker IV reunite with LeBron in Los Angeles? He made the most money and scored efficiently during his lone season in Hollywood. The Lakers need shooting and could use an infusion of young talent on their roster. If Walker is willing to take the minimum, expect LA to have some interest in a reunion.
