15 Potential Lakers free agent targets with ties to LeBron James
By Tyler Watts
10. Reggie Bullock
The 11-year NBA veteran had a brief stint with LeBron James and the Lakers. He was acquired at the 2019 trade deadline for Svi Mykhailiuk and a second-round draft pick. LA hoped to snap a five-year playoff drought and desperately needed shooting, but he played in just 19 games as the Lakers could not turn things around and missed the postseason again.
The 6’6 wing left for the Knicks in free agency and has played for three different teams in the last five years. Bullock barely saw the court in Houston this season and likely looks to catch on with a contender this summer.
The Lakers still need floor spacing and perimeter defense. Bullock helped the Mavericks reach the conference finals in 2022 but is still searching for his first championship. It is fair to question how much he has left in the tank, but LA has a need and could likely sign him to a no-risk contract.
Bullock is a career 38.5 percent 3-point shooter, and the Lakers finished 24th in threes made this season. That alone should create interest. The 33-year-old wing may not be able to handle a significant role, but even getting some shooting on the floor in limited minutes could help LeBron James and the Lakers.
