The LA Times is reporting that Andrew Bynum is planning on playing in the Lakers next matchup on Thursday against the Phoenix Suns.  This will push DJ Mbenga back to his spot on the bench after an extremely good showing over a two-game span as the lone 7-footer on the floor.  Lamar Odom is 6’10” for those of you who are counting.

Pau Gasol is still a complete unknown.  Pau was quoted as saying,

"“Every time I put a timetable in my mind, I get disappointed, so I can’t afford that any more,” he said. “It’s a matter of time before it gets better. When? Who knows? They (the athletic training staff) can’t tell me. I can’t tell them. I can’t tell anybody. I wish I knew for certain because it would help my mind and spirit. But so far, I have to take it easy and go one day at a time.”"

I feel better about the team’s depth with Bynum back.  Kobe Bryant has been working overtime on his scoring to make up for the lack of a 2nd option inside.

Forgive the headline- I couldn’t help myself.
