Thanks to a roster overhaul of nearly half the guys, the Lakers opening lineup for tonight’s season opener was always a question mark. A could of different lineups were used in the preseason, but nothing was set in stone. However, the not-so-important secret began leaking, first when Shawne Williams told reporters he was starting on opening, then was confirmed when Mike D’Antoni acknowledged the rumors and confirmed them.

The starting unit saw limited action together, with the majority of play coming in the final game. Their positive flashes were far too often over-shadowed by their miscues. They allowed a Utah Jazz team to remain competitive in the final preseason game through the first quarter. However, in the same game, they easily handled the same unit in the 3rd quarter en route to 37 points in the quarter.

Do you think this is the Lakers best lineup possible for opening night?
