Dwight Howard made his first formal return to Los Angeles in preparation for his new team’s upcoming match-up against the Clippers. As part of his return, he talked to the L.A. media for the first time since he left the Lakers this summer. Surprisingly, he didn’t have many nice things to say.

Howard didn’t comment much on the subject matter of the Lakers, saying that “it’s over with” and that it “wasn’t the best situation for anybody.” Still, you have to wonder if there was some dual meaning to his comment about Lakers fans.

Howard’s time in purple and gold was tumultuous at best. As a member of what was deemed a “dream team” in the preseason, Howard and the Lakers didn’t even clinch a playoff spot until the final night and were unceremoniously dumped out of the playoffs in the minimum four games. Howard’s last moments on the court as a Laker featured him being ejected in the fourth (and final) game of the first round of the playoffs.

What do you think Lakers fans? Was Dwight Howard calling out Lakers fans?
