With Xavier Henry nearing a possible return, another Lakers has joined the ranks of the injured as Pau Gasol will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the injury to his foot.

Gasol injured the foot against the blowout loss to the Clippers. He did not participate in Monday’s practice, but his status remains uncertain for the Lakers matchup against Cleveland on Tuesday.

For Henry, his return will be delayed as he will sit out the Cavs game.

Henry was to be re-examined today by doctors, yet no word has been released on his status. Still, the wingman has not had enough practice time to participate in tomorrow night’s game.

If Gasol does not play, the Lakers will be down to 8 healthy players, the minimum for a team. If Gasol’s injury is a prolonged one, the team could look to bring in a player on a 10-day contract. As has been the case for the Lakers the last two seasons, injuries are ravaging their roster.
