The Lakers are doing their research in the draft and a key player just may be within reach.  His name is Dante Exum.  He recently signed with Kobe’s agent, Rob Pelinka, and will be part of the 2014 NBA draft.  He’s a 6’6″ projected point guard, with a combination of quickness, speed, agility, ball-handling, and unselfishness.  He may need to gain some strength and refine his jumpshot at the NBA level, but the physical tools and NBA level skills are there.

He is also able to play within multiple offensive schemes.  He has a post game that would work in the triangle offense, and a speed game that works well with Mike D’Antoni’s uptempo offense.

The Lakers would be fortunate to run with a big point guard once again.  He may not having the passing ability of Magic Johnson, but he does have the athleticism to compete with the league’s elite.
