NBA Rumors: Kevin Love "100% certainty" to join Lakers

While times are currently rough in Laker land, the future looks bright. In an article from ESPN’s Chris Broussard, he speaks of a GM who told him that Minnesota Timberwolves big man Kevin Love is a guaranteed Laker.

As for the Kevin Love-to-New York rumors, most executives believe Love is destined for the Lakers when he becomes a free agent in 2015. “That’s a 100 percent certainty,” one GM told me.

The Love-to-LA rumors are not new and have long been rumbling with Love’s impatience and anger with the Timberwolves franchise growing bigger and bigger. Love is not scheduled to become a free agent until 2015, leaving the Lakers one year away from his possible arrival.

With all the cap space this summer, the Lakers could be left in a lingo of whether to spend big on a free agent now or wait on Love for the future.

Problem is if this is real and Minnesota will trade him to another team its to early for a sign and trade so his new team will have to hope he commits to them long term so he’s not just a 1 year rental, but a lot of teams will take a shot on him, his value won’t go down. Love could come out &say I’m not re-signing for anyone else if he is traded, &then LAL would be in prime position but I doubt this happens, I can see him traded next year at the deadline, or on draft day this year, but not to LA.
