It looks like the Lakers are nearing the return of one of their breakout stars early in the season. After a long, delayed return to the court, Xavier Henry will be making a stop with the Los Angeles D-Fenders tonight for a rehab assignment.

Henry was one of the Lakers’ diamonds in the rough from the off-season. Prior to his injury, he was averaging 10.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and shooting 42.5% from the field, all career highs. However, Henry left the Lakers game on December 29 against the 76ers after just a handful of minutes. Complications and setbacks continued to push Henry’s return date back until it finally looks like he’s set to return to the court.

The length of Henry’s time with the D-Fenders is not known, but he will be joining the likes of former Lakers Manny Harris, Shawne Williams and notable former NBA player Terrance Williams.
