Last night the Lakers lost their 50th game of the season. The game recap is brought to you by our own editor, Valerie Morales.
It was the Lakers players, not Mike D’antoni, who made a big deal about getting to 31 wins. Perhaps D’antoni knew the truth. This is the worst team in Los Angeles Lakers history. No Los Angeles Lakers team is worse than they are. It is a fact. Just look at how they competed against Milwaukee (last week) and Sacramento on Wednesday. It is evidence of their collective ineptitude. – LakeShowLife.com
However, depending on what you want for the Lakers this season, the loss to the Kings could be found as a win, for the upcoming NBA Draft.
Given the Lakers (25-50) have been long eliminated from the playoffs, the worse they do in the standings, the higher their position in the May 20 NBA draft lottery. The Kings’ victory on Wednesday put them two games “behind” the Lakers in the lottery standings, with Sacramento in seventh place. The Lakers play seven more games, six against teams in playoff contention. – Los Angeles Times
Speaking of the draft, international prospects are coming to light. Dario Saric has been covered before, but little is known about Jusif Nurkic.
Jusuf Nurkic isn’t a common household name to the 2014 draft. He is one of the elite NBA lottery prospects. He’s an incredibly productive center that plays for Cedevita. In terms of size, he’s a full 6’10″ (w/o shoes) with a 7’2″ wingspan. At 280lbs., he has a low post base that is NBA ready now. LakeShowLife.com
Maybe the Lakers need a new practice facility to aid their individual games? The Lakers didn’t win a championship after 1988 until they got new uniforms and Staples Center was built. A little change could do some good.
LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Lakers‘ rebuilding efforts includes plans for actual construction. The Lakers entered into an agreement to purchase a five-acre lot of land just minutes from its current practice facility in El Segundo, Calif., in order to build a brand new training center, the team announced Tuesday. – ESPNLA
