Lakers Rumors: Jodie Meeks has signed with the Detroit Pistons

Despite interest coming from the front office, it seems as if LakeShowLife’s Most Improved Player of the Season, Jodie Meeks, has signed with the Detroit Pistons. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, Meeks has become the first piece to fall from this years’ roster after agreeing to a three-year, $19 million-plus contract with Detroit.

The agile two-guard arrived in Los Angeles in 2012 in an effort to add speed and long-range shooting to the roster. After a disappointing first year with the Purple and Gold, the Kentucky alumnus’ tenure really sparked into life as of October 2013. Season highlights include his 42 point outing against the Oklohoma City Thunder at the Staples Center in March.

Meeks averaged 15.7ppg this year with the Lakers off of a career-high .463 FG%. He leaves Los Angeles after two years of service and we’d like to wish him all the best for the future.
