If you haven’t heard or seen the ALS ice bucket challenge yet, well, as the old adage goes, you’ve been living under a rock. Multiple Lakers past and present, celebrities, and average Joes have completed the challenge.

When nominated, a person has 24 hours to either have a bucket of ice water dumped on their head and donate $10 dollars, or skip the ice bucket and donate $100.

On Thursday, Mitch Kupchak and various other Lakers staff completed the challenge, including assistant coach Mark Madsen, Vice President of Public Relations John Black, Los Angeles D-Fenders general manager Nick Mazzella.

Obviously, none of these can top Kobe Bryant’s response, but they are all done for a great cause nonetheless. Through the ice bucket challenge craze, ALS has raised $41 million dollars, an astonishing amount.

Kupchak nominated Laker great Jerry West, who nearly immediately accepted the challenge himself.

Clearly this is sweeping (or already swept through, at this point) the nation. Here’s your challenge Lakers nation. If you haven’t already, we nominate YOU to do the ice bucket challenge. Tag us in your video and we’ll be sure to RT them!
