The Lakers wrapped up their eight-game road trip on Saturday and these are the takeaways

The Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up an eight-game road trip on Saturday night as they were absolutely throttled by an energized Houston Rockets team. The Kobe Bryant farewell tour racked up stops and tributes along the way, but the Lakers as a team only racked up losses as a whole.

The Lakers finished the road trip going 1-7 over the eight games and losing their last six games of that stretch. Not that anyone came into the road trip expecting a great deal of success from this team, but 1-7 is a pretty good indication of what kind of Lakers team that we are dealing with here.

That said, the losses don’t fully tell the whole story for the road trip. There were certainly a number of truly positive things that happened throughout the eight-game stretch as the team seemed to gain a more positive identity, players started to show something that fans have been waiting on, and much more.

There could be many changes coming for the Lakers very soon as the front office is scheduled to meet with head coach Byron Scott this week, but all we can look at now is where the Lakers currently stand. After the road trip, these are the five biggest takeaways.
